My Favorite....

When Amelia looks at a picture and states "I wanna go in there!"  Especially when it's far away family...she recently saw a picture of Grandma and Grandpa in California and said this....

God is the Gospel

The critical question for our generation - and for every generation - is this: If you could have heaven, with no sickness, and with all the friends you ever had on earth, and all the food you ever liked, and all the leisure activities you ever enjoyed, and all the natural beauties you ever saw, all the physical pleasures you ever tasted, and no human conflict or any natural disasters, could you be satisfied with heaven, if Christ were not there? - John Piper, God is the Gospel

Thrilled to be reading this book and to be challenged...The ultimate gift of the Gospel is God, Himself...that is the Good News!

God's Loving Reminders....

My back is out...I've never had this happen before...It started with a small twinge in my lower back, which can be normal, so I continued with my plan to get things done around the house while I had Marsha and Jamie home...vacuum, laundry, change diapers, make beds, swim, unload dishwasher, load dishwasher...then as I finished feeding Paul, bent to pick up a plate off the floor and stand up, the pain took my breath away and my legs felt limp.  Next think I know, I am completely dependent on everyone else in the room.

I am painfully aware now that I have taken for granted all the little gifts (although now I consider them major gifts) God gives me daily in my healthy body.  In our home, with 3 kids 4 and under, I am constantly bending , twisting, pulling, picking up a 22 lb and often a 32 lb weight, stretching my body to it's limits, and I don't think anything of it...it's like I expect my body to contort!  So, thank you God, for this reminder to praise you for how you created our bodies with an incredible plan. Thank you for a loving husband and mother-in-law who are ready and willing to serve me and the kids!

Like Santa, Mom?

I just gave Noah some Nilla Wafers to eat in his room for "rest" time, (I hate to admit that I do this!) and I offered him milk with it...he says "like Santa, Mom?"  It never ceases to amaze me how much their little minds soak up and remember months later!

Takin' the Dance Floor

Don't know where she gets it (ahem...maybe daddy?)  But our little girl was dancin' the night away at Andrew and Missy's wedding reception!

Amelia Island Vacation

Just returned from a wonderfully relaxing weekend on Amelia Island...Amelia doesn't recognize her name yet on all the signs, but in years to come, we look forward to visiting her island again and again!

Fishing was the highlight of the week...Noah and Jamie spent hours doing so. Although not a lot was biting, the boys did catch a whiting and Jamie grilled it up for dinner - Noah LOVED it. He's been wanting to catch a fish and eat it for a while now!

Noah's Name Calling...

This kid cracks us up...I mentioned a couple weeks ago that he has taken to calling old things "rusty" - including people! As in, "that rusty old guy" and "our rusty house" (meaning the house we lived in previously).

Also, Noah has started calling family members by a shorter version of their name...I just heard another one last night. Robin is "Rob", Amelia is "Mil" and the one the makes me giggle the most is Maymee is now "Mame"!

Paul Kenneth

Our Paul was born on January 23, to my surprise, a couple days early! But he was fully cooked at 9 lbs. 6 oz and 22.5 inches. Cannot believe his first week has flown by so quickly. And time to change the name of our blog from Ostrander Four to Five.

Happy Birthday Grandpa!

We'll just keep the age the way it is:)

Baby News

No baby yet...but we are ready. I have a boy and girl bag of clothes sitting in the bassinet, an unopened pack of size 1's and now we wait. Due date is Tuesday. My dad's birthday is today, sister, Kristyn's, tomorrow I was really hoping to give them a bundle of joy on their day, but I don't think it's gonna happen:) We are pretty tied down to home, not really having the energy to get up and go anywhere, but the kids seem very content with that! God has certainly blessed us with this home so close to the beach, plenty of sidewalks to take a quick walk, and plenty of room to play inside. Millie is going to be an excellent big sister - she seems so grown up compared to Noah when she was born, although, she does have 5 months on him! Noah cannot wait to meet a new little baby...he is so much more aware now of the fact that he will have another sibling. He thinks it's a girl and that her name should be "Dudey". We are confident in God's timing in bringing this little one into the world and look forward to that moment!
